[Pancake hearts.]

Slowly but surely making my way back into the kitchen...this time with heart-shaped lemon ricotta pancakes. I don't really like pancakes or lemon-flavored things, but I do like heart-shaped food, bowls, and baking utensils. And I was cooking for someone other than myself, AND it was February, so...it all made sense at the time. It was a lovely dinner and evening, but guys...it felt so forced... I only cook for the ones I love, you know? (You know. You've seen.) I guess I don't yet love cooking just for the joy of cooking. Won't be trying that again anytime soon. Regardless, the pancakies were delish, and now that they are tucked away in my teeny tiny cooking repertoire, they will be replicated this weekend for Shannon, a lady I do love, in celebration of her recent engagement!! Aaaaah!

 


n.b. I should clarify that baking with someone is not the same as cooking for someone. K?

So I'm a little blue today. As much as I preach about keeping your head up, my head has been decidedly down all day long. Boo hoo, I know, I know. Anyway, I came across this cute little project in the blogsphere today, and wanted to share. I would have been thrilled to come across one of these little painted stones in the wild today, specifically placed "for people who feel so low they just can't look up," but seeing them on the computer screen was enough for me, I suppose. Cute, right? I know they'll each make someone's day.

I'm afraid I won't have much to blog about for the next little while, but I'll still try to share things like this, things I find that make me happy. I'm going to stop spamming Facebook every time I blog, mostly because it's like, really annoying to the world, so if that's how you usually get here, just check back on your own every now and then.

[Hearts in the sky.]

In 3.27 seconds I may throw up from the hippy cheeseballness of this post, but I spotted this heart cloud in the sky the other day and couldn't bear to keep it to myself. I work pretty hard at surrounding myself with things *I* think are beautiful and fabulous (and often spend disproportionate amounts of my paycheck to do so), so seeing this cloud was a nice little reminder to pay attention to the simple things around me. What a lovely world we've been given, don't you think?

Alright, I'm off to plant a forest and rescue pandas.
