LA singles ward observations.

just some observations from attending church in LA today:

girls in short skirts.
girls in stillettos.
{and you're like...so that's where she got it...}
girls doing makeup in relief society.

more grammar errors and mispronunciations in sunday school.

people are better looking.
{like...much better looking.}
and generally well dressed and more hip.

more career variety. recording artist? check. i-banker? check. professor? check. model? social worker? actress? check check check.
~
all this in comparison to current community of residence, the NoVA/DC area.

that's all for now.

  2. Funny--and probably accurate. DC has always been known, and ridiculed, for being a conservative town--not too adventurous in terms of fashion. And, a certain personality tends to be attracted to DC--those wonky politicos, Mormon politicos bent on saving the Constitution as it hangs by a thread, each envisioning that they are the thread. I'm sure that's the case with all those fashionistas, hipsters, surfers, and aspiring actresses in LA.

    Hailing from Northern California myself, or NorCal as it's affectionately known, I'm hella preppy, much more so than SoCal, and proudly so. I have little time for hipsterism in all its forms, for those who try so hard to make it appear that they're not trying at all. That said, I would welcome a little more diversity to DC--a few more hipsters not working in politics, some actors or fashionistas or financial people, but because of DC's largely political nature, I'm dubious as to whether that will indeed happen. Even with its lack of diversity and my CA heritage, DC > LA (gasp!) because to me, it has a little more substance than LA.
